Building Extension Plans

“We tried to come to church on Sunday, but we were late and it looked full.”

“With a family we’re usually later than everybody else, and we can’t sit together as a family.”

“Walking down the aisle for a bride and her father involves a slalom technique or a sideways shuffle!”

“When we  use a second station for communion, people have to return  to their seats by leaving from the door at the back of the church and then coming in through the porch.”

These are some of the reasons why we have prayerfully decided to expand St Barnabas’ church again, only ten years after the last extension. This time we are planning to extend on the South side. Of course, it’s a lovely problem to have! And we are determined to get it right.

Planning permission has been granted and the work is scheduled to start during May 2013.

How much will it cost?

We expect to spend €50,000 on the project. Various professional services have been freely given and, with the promise of grants and generous donations already received, God has brought us along part of this journey already. But we still need your help.

Our appeal comes at a time of a major financial crisis in this small country where the government and people of Cyprus have been hit very hard. We had just started approaching local businesses for support, in addition to our appeal to individuals, when the crisis happened. Nevertheless we believe it is right to go ahead more than ever at this time.

If this project touches your heart to give, then we shall be especially grateful.
